Construction of a fantastic new facility in Horsham highlights Soundcraft’s manufacture and installation expertise within the UK leisure sector.

The extensive project for Neilcott Construction has seen Soundcraft provide a thermally-efficient and high-performance fenestration package for the new state-of-the-art building in West Sussex.

Working alongside specialists GT3 Architects and supply-chain partners Senior Architectural Systems, Soundcraft has delivered external glazing for the entire build, together with SPW501 doors, SF52 curtain walling and automated SD sliding door sets, at one of the biggest dry-side sports and leisure centres in the district.

A key point of installation for the Soundcraft team was operating in such close proximity to the existing centre, particularly during the construction of a seamless, silicone-sealed curtain wall Gym Box, designed to create a light space for gym users. “Manoeuvring very large units of glass, with only a one-meter space between the buildings, required a contract lift to glaze the elevation facing the existing building,” said Michael Bishop, Soundcraft’s Commercial Manager. “We worked closely with Neilcott Construction to ensure that access and installation planning was managed effectively for successful completion.”

The brand-new leisure complex, which provides essential sport and recreational facilities for the local community and regional athletes, includes: a 70-station gym; a six-court sports hall; five multi-use games areas; three fitness studios; indoor cycling studio; athletics track; a sensory room; café and meeting room, together with the area’s biggest Clip and Climb facility.
