Soundcraft were appointed in 2024 by Vistry to deliver key building services packages for a £157 million regeneration development – Merrick Place in Southall – a landmark scheme set to create a vibrant, large-scale mixed-use residential and commercial destination.

Merrick Place will deliver 575 new mixed-tenure homes, which will be owned and managed by Sovereign Network Group (SNG) and Grainger plc, making a significant contribution to the area’s housing provision and wider community infrastructure.

Designed by Cartwright Pickard, the development comprises four residential buildings ranging from 15 to 22 storeys, forming a striking addition to Southall’s evolving skyline. As a project of considerable scale and complexity, Merrick Place demands meticulous coordination, technical expertise, and precision delivery at every stage.

Soundcraft’s package of works included; 1,804 windows and doors, 1,613m2 of curtain walling, canopies, 686 MVHR louvres, and 290m2 of specialist roof and crown brise soleil panels delivered in conjunction with Contrasol Ltd. Each element completed with a focus on quality, programme certainty, and seamless collaboration.

Soundcraft Managing Director Michael Bishop said: “From design development and programme planning through to manufacture, mobilisation and on-site delivery – our team worked closely with the client and project stakeholders to maintain strong communications and aligned expectations throughout.”

A key element of the project involved fitting Soundcraft manufactured window and door units into pre-cast concrete façades at Littleport, Cambridgeshire, in coordination with FP McCann, before the completed panels were transported to Southall for installation.

The MVHR louvres were also uniquely designed to meet the demands of a more complex on-site install to the pre-cast concrete panels. In addition, the specialist roof and crown brise soleil panels, some of which incorporated integrated windows, were craned into position at roof level and installed using bespoke hanging brackets.

This off-site approach not only supported efficiency plans, but also ensured each unit was positioned accurately and installed to exacting standards.

Completing the manufacture and installation of 1,804 windows and doors within just ten months was a fast-paced programme, reflecting the level of planning, coordination and consistency required across every stage of delivery. As works progressed, Soundcraft continued to support the wider Southall development with curtain walling to the commercial units and other instructed packages.

MD Michael Bishop stated: “Now, with the full scale of the project entering its final stages, 18 months after installation first began, Merrick Place stands as a testament to our team’s commitment, resilience and ability to deliver at an exceptional level on a complex, large-scale London development.”

Soundcraft takes pride in delivering façade packages with precision, professionalism, and uncompromising attention to detail. Merrick Place demonstrates what can be achieved through technical expertise, collaborative teamwork and trusted partnerships.
