Soundcraft has recently completed the upgrading and renewal of over fifty FD30S fire doors at Bethlem Royal Hospital, in Beckenham, Kent. The works, requiring a sensitive approach, was carried out in Longfield House, a specialist unit, which was occupied throughout.

This was the latest of several similar projects carried out for the South London and Maudsley (SLAM) NHS Trust by Soundcraft. Almost inevitably such works are complex, requiring a combination of fire resistance and security in the timber doors and screens, whether upgraded or renewed.

The works was carried out under the Exova BM Trada 3rd Party Certification Scheme for the Installation of Fire Doors. Soundcraft can offer technical advice on fire resistance and security for similar mental health organisations.
