Programme to upgrade thermal efficiency of 21-storey building envelope.
Soundcraft was appointed by Durkan Ltd for Wandsworth Council to deliver an extensive manufacturing and installation programme at Castlemaine Tower in South London.
Upgrade of the 21-storey residential block required the removal and replacement of existing windows and curtain walling throughout. Additional aspects included communications for community relationships during the refurbishment of individual properties and management of skilled teams operating from high-rise scaffolding wrapped around the tower block.
During months of intensive work, Soundcraft products and work passed rigorous tests for weather performance and efficient water penetration resistance, approved by the Centre for Window and Cladding Technology, signed off by Building Control and carried out by VINCI Technology Centre.
