Design Processor / Junior Designer

We have an exciting new opportunity for a talented Design Processor / Junior Designer in the field of curtain walling, windows and doors for the UK construction industry.

The successful candidate will report to Soundcraft’s Design Manager and Production Director to ensure the company’s design and fabrication commitments are delivered effectively, efficiently, on-time, to specification and in a cost-effective manner.

Daily Activities

  • Prepare high-quality shop drawings for ancillary items related to curtain walling, windows, doors, louvered grilles, etc.
  • Schedule designs into BM Logical software
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the products offered by the company
  • Read all forms of design-related drawings and specifications
  • Attend coordination meetings both internally and externally
  • Liaise with internal departments to gain required information to complete fabrication input
  • Attend any internal meetings and workshops required
  • Attend any supplier-related training as needed, including overnight stays
  • Assist with administrative duties

Key Skills

  • Knowledge of the fenestration industry and route to market for the company’s products
  • Experience of system house SAS/Sapa/Technal/Scheuco/Kawneer is beneficial but not essential
  • Design and technical experience of window, door, curtain wall systems
  • Understanding architect requirements
  • Excellent numerical skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Computer literate in the use of industry related software, such as Microsoft and CAD
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Familiarisation with current Building Regulations, beneficial but not essential
  • Familiarisation with main contractor external portal access document controlling, such as ASite, 4P, etc., is beneficial but not essential

  • £30 – £40k, depending on experience.
Bench Joiner / Aluminium Fabricator

Experience in general bench joinery and Aluminium fabrication an advantage in one or both fields.
In-house training available for the successful applicant.
Rate neg depending on experience.

General Hand

Supporting Factory staff & general Housekeeping.
In-house training available for the successful applicant.
