On 1st August 2012 Rob Thomson will become Managing Director at Kent based manufacturer of performance doors and windows, Soundcraft.

After many years as Operations Director, Rob is well placed to move the company forward. His wide experience of all aspects of Soundcraft’s business makes him ideally suited to this role. In particular, his knowledge of manufacturing doors and joinery, plus his significant involvement in the development of fire and acoustic products, will stand him in good stead.

This change enables Terry Marshall, Managing Director since 1997, to move to a new role focussing on Soundcraft’s marketing and technical development.

“I’m excited by the challenge of moving Soundcraft forward, from a position of strength, based, not the least on a great team, but also on strong foundations of manufacturing performance doors and windows that have seen the company prosper in recent years, despite the recession. Our move into composite doors and windows with SAS’s Hybrid system will add strength to our product portfolio, and our investment in achieving 3rd party Certification for the installation and maintenance of fire doors will enable us to develop business in this critical area. I’m also keen to widen our appeal by growing our installation business,” said Rob.

To this end, other operational changes include the appointment of Sean Alcock, as Director of Contract Development, to head up and develop the installation arm for our performance doors and windows.

Soundcraft has also strengthened its technical and customer services support to enhance the offering to specifiers, contractors and all clients.

Rob continues “The future for Soundcraft is very positive. From a position of strength we are widening our offer in products and services. We are keen to develop existing profitable areas and to expand into new product and service areas.”
