Two recent Soundcraft installations of communal security doors display the range of aesthetic options available to suit particular residential requirements.

The 2XG design of the door and screen at Elizabeth Court reflects the open nature of the approach and entrance to the building which is part of the stock of a leading housing association.

The door opens in and access is controlled by an Assa electric strike and mortice lock combination. The door was also fitted with an automatic closer to satisfy the requirements of Part M of the Building Regulations.

Unusually, the timber portcullis door installed for Orbit HA at Waterside Court in west London features a white finish. In other respects it has the standard features of timber communal security doors including magnets, a continuous hinge and laminated glass.

As at Elizabeth Court, the Waterside Court door has an automatic closer, ensuring compliance with Part M.
